Time Out New York December 13, 2007 Time Out New York December 13, 2007 New Year’s Easy By Ali Rohrs To hell with that $500 dinner-in-a-cattle-pen package. There are more interesting ways to dance on the grave of 2007, whether your partying style is lo-fi, high energy or somewhere in between. One of 21 selections by Time Out for New Year’s Eve 2007: Grab six of your friends and hightail it to the Catskills: The Roxbury Motel hosts a New Year’s Eve bonfire every year, with complimentary champagne, wine, marshmallows and appetizers until midnight. Guests can also mingle around the new crystal fireplace on the upper deck beneath the stars. Studios start at $125 per night, but your best bet is to split the cost of a $250-$350 suite that sleeps five. Also: Forget hiring a car; you can take a Pinehill or Adirondack Trailways bus (800-776-7548) to Margaretville ($75 round-trip), and arrange for the Roxbury to pick you up for free at the station. |
